Pam Callen

SOLOMONS, MARYLAND
After a foreign service career, having lived overseas in different developing countries for over 20 years, Pamela Callen draws inspiration from her travels as well as the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay, its tributaries, and the surrounding areas.  Her work is often an impressionistic style with lots of vivid color and movement that she expresses through a range of mediums from oil and acrylics to pastels. She has also had some abstracts or semi-abstracts emerge onto her canvas, based on particular emotions either arising from life’s experiences or strong memories. Learn more about Pam here.

Tom Kirby

SOLOMONS, MARYLAND

Tom Kirby became an artist as an act of self-exploration. His initial efforts led him to enroll in a variety of art courses at the Art League in Alexandria, VA as well as adult education classes, private group instruction, and numerous workshops on the East Coast. Although he has worked in many mediums and in a variety of subjects over forty-plus years as an artist, he began to seriously experiment with acrylic paints in the early 2000’s with a focus on abstraction. Tom’s creative process is to either begin a painting with a specific idea based on a drawing or photograph or to work intuitively, putting some marks and paint on a blank canvas in an arbitrary manner. In either case, regardless of the beginning, he goes where the painting takes him, becoming lost in the give and take of color, shape, and composition.
